Dane Barlow will start this two-day course with case selection and planning, and then doctor and lab communication. Attendees will go through the design process as a group. They will design a case while Dane explains his digital workflow from Print to Press. Dane will discuss with course participants the common difficulties faced on the computer screen and the needed doctor information for analog to covert to the digital screen correctly. Participants will address the changes necessary for delivering a superior digital product for smile design cases. A checklist of potential pitfalls will be provided to participants so they can review their cases in the lab and check for these common unforeseen issues. Attendees will then cut back a 3-unit anterior case.
The second day will include layering and texturing the 3-unit case. Dane will discuss material science and aesthetics. As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, he will also share his opinion on selection and methodology for cases he would submit for review by mentors in the academy to properly understand and manage expectations regarding cosmetic cases.

Today’s restorative dentists need to enhance their cosmetic skills in order to achieve growth and
profitability in their practices. This combination lecture and hands-on workshop will demonstrate
a simplified method of restoring the fractured maxillary anterior central incisor with composite
resin using the intraoral composite mock-up technique. Additionally, as a result of the latest nanomicrohybrid
injectable composite technology, dentists can now quickly, easily and predictably treat
posterior teeth, cervical (abfraction) lesions and incisal wear with beauty, strength and function
beyond patient expectations. Improvements in composite polymerization shrinkage, reduction of
internal stress and occlusal wear, have made low-wear injectable composite a great aesthetic option.
This program will also demonstrate, in a step-by-step fashion, how to place sensitivity-free posterior
composites quickly and easily, so that an esthetic result with a high success rate and predictable
outcome can be achieved.
